The Long Way Here
Before Love + Freedom Education, I ran one of the top fine arts programs in New York City, taught at the university level, and traveled the world for residencies and commissions. I was very successful. I was also very tired.
Success had taught me how to push. It had not taught me how to listen, or where to place real trust in myself beyond ambition. So somewhere in that decade, I unhitched from all of it: the university, the city, the version of a life I already knew how to build. I moved to the jungles of Hawaii to learn a different way of building one.
It was hard. I still had to keep myself alive in a world with almost no infrastructure for the path I was learning. I worked jobs that meant nothing to escape a career that meant too much. It took years to find the balance I was really looking for: how to soften without losing momentum, how to build big vision from a place of rest instead of strain.
What I found, eventually, was a way of creating that did not require me to choose between ambition and ease. I built a roadmap out of my own experience: how a tenacious, hyper-independent survivor who had already made it against every odd found more power in pleasure and flow than she ever found in strategy and control. That roadmap is the root of everything I teach.
Why I Built This School
Along the way, I noticed the men in my life wrestling with a parallel problem: few honest models for a kind of strength that didn’t require armor. I looked for spaces where people were building real capacity together, not performing empowerment at each other from opposite sides of a room. None existed. So I built one.
Love + Freedom Education exists because the world we are trying to create needs whole people building it, not fragments of people playing roles at each other. We work with the interplay of structure and intuition in every person, because that interplay is what makes anything real and lasting. The conversations we hold across that divide are not a side project. They are the work.
What Actually Qualifies Me
I have an MA and a PhD (ABD) in the History of Consciousness, and an MFA in Fine Art. I’m a certified life coach, an Orgasmic Meditation trainer, and an ordained intuitive.
None of that is really why I’m equipped to help you build what you’re building. I’m equipped because I have lived every principle I teach, in the real world, under real financial pressure, with no family wealth or institutional prestige to fall back on. I built a business fully grounded in desire, pleasure, wisdom, and self-trust, and it worked. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t build it any other way.
Decades as an artist and an educator gave me a rare fluency in designing experiences that change people, rather than simply informing them. That is what’s available to you here: not one more framework to read about, but a direct experience of building the life and the world you are here to create.
